God forbid, this must be the most refreshing MMO I tried in ages. I'm even blogging (in English ofc)! http://rnbrg.wordpress.com/
Currently playing a Templar on the server Perento on Elyos side with few irl friends. If you are thinking of starting, head there! Are you playing already? What do you like/don't? (btw I didn't buy it, school bought it for me + gametime, read more about that in the blog :D)

Kod
Cleric, 31, Perento, Elyos

----
Hopefully I will be able to join Havoc when I turn 40, I got some mates in there. Well, I like the game overall, still alot of small things that annoys me. Like sometimes disable-autoapproach doesnt work.

Rubberbanding is still an issue, so is the game flickering at some times, but then again, I play on a laptop and it reached 75C playing. Hopefully I will recieve my cooling pad soon, so I will be able to play more smooth.

Leveling reminds me alot about pre-tbc 1-60, you dont really know where you have to go, but you just pick up whatever you find and getting the most out of it. I picked armorsmithing, but damn crafting is a moneysink atm. I stopped crafting when I reached 150 in it, saving up since I only have 700k atm.

Kek, that's lame.

So what is pvp like? Walking around with your ugly, fat dwarf killing little critters?

Lame that people cant stalk you? Never the less, everytime a guildmate logs on, you will see it anyway.

I have not yet been in a fortress fight, since I'm not in any good legion atm. (only reason I'm staying is because of pink cloak with pedobear).

Uhm, ganking is pretty fun though you cant see the level of your target, so if you start casting and your spell is just getting resisted its time to fly away! The game is alot more than knowing what to press, than just smashing alot of buttons. Your damage spells are most often in something called attack-chains, known from DAoC aswell, before you can use spell 2, you would have had to press spell 1 first, where spell 2 then could stun the person or whatnot.

Only talking about Abyss pvp here, where you can fly all over the place, there is also something called rifts. Rifts are something that appears in the normal world, the PvE world where you do your normal questing, and the only thing that can harm you is mobs. Then all of a sudden a rift appears, that leads straight to enemy-land (in my case asmodae) where you then will enter, form a group, and just have fun. There are also some quests, where you will have to enter a rift for complete, the so-called SPY quests.
-----------

Sad story: Some of the people that I started to play with have already, after 1 month, left the game. The reason, it was too hard to level.

So if you are a carebear, then move along or stay Razz

I just read what the arenajunkies forum had to say about aion, and it only wanted me to come back to WoW even less. It is so clear that they are used to getting everything served to them, that the mere thought of doing some work scares them back into their little arena.

Apparently most of them just rushed to 50, and seeing as the majority of players are in their 30-40's they had noone to play with, and therefor it got boring! Whining about noone to play with and noone to fight. And apparently some of the things they are whining about, is just lack of knowledge!

And apparently, the community is gay! Compared to WoW.... Reality check?

They are all iterations from the name (red) I've been using online to almost everything except WoW for like 9 years. As in Vermillian and Venetian being shades of that colour. Razz Hugely less lame than combining Blood and night in my opinion :D

And yeah I like it in Aion. Finally something harder than WoW, which is still not annoying like the typical korea-grinds. It's similar enough in way for me to feel like im home in the game, but vastly different in areas, enough to make keep me interested and drop my jaw every now and then about the way they implemented some things. You won't ding 20 in 20 hours Wink

It was supposed to be BloodKnight, but he kind of failed writing :')

Btw, even if they are iterations, they still are pretty common whatever phylosophy.

2 things:
- Nobody likes leveling anyways;
- Nobody could ding lvl 20 in 20 hours in the first years, when wow actually was more hardcore than now.

Agree, I dont think the majority of players like to level. But when its that much harder to do, it feels more as you accomplished something, when you ding!

True, true. I should have added that it's not a big deal if it is an common name. Having a common name also gives some protection from search engines etc so it's a good thing. I dislike being stalked, online and irl. Razz

When I rerolled from Rogue to Shaman it wasn't much over 20h for lvl 20. (that was inside first 3 months of wow). I have a screenshot lying somewhere with 19 hours x minutes and almost level 19 on the Sham.

But yeh, leveling as is isn't fun. But I like exploring new content in my own pace, and I just keep getting levels when playing the game (doing quests etc). You also get some experience from gathering herbs, ore etc. Later on I'll prolly grind some instances rather than solo grind if it's required. I'm not in a hurry to reach level cap and get bored when majority of playerbase is lower. Smile

Agreed.

Seriously I did like 1 week to level from 8-20 Razz (1-8 = 2 hours standard)

I disagree. I like leveling if its got contents in it, like instances and pvp (vanilla wow anyone?). Just because its one thing on the list of things that originaly were good that blizzard fucked up hard doesent make it a fun thing in other games.

I liked leveling the first times maybe. First time horde, first time alliance.

After that it was just too time consuming to be bothered with
